With an open arms..

On wednesday, 9th December 2009 Alexandrian girls were blessed to share an evening session with our beloved asatizahs from Singapore. Other than spending their time holiday-ing with their beloved ones here in Egypt,they decided to visit us regardless their busy schedule and we thank them and Allah for that. Qola Ta'la in his noble Quran:

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ وَأُنثَى وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ شُعُوباً وَقَبَائِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوا

"O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. one of the Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2)]. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware." (Surah Hujuraat; 13)

Through experienced and studies,the asatizahs were equipped with opinions, views and advices for us to become a better student with greater achievements. At the same time,preparing us with some brief expectation from the society of an intellectual dai' in today's challenging world.
Some of the points highlighted was the importance of reading not just kuliah subjects by Aljunied's vice principal; Ustaz Mokson Mahori,it is also a key to becoming an intelligent preacher.
Aljunied's Executive Director; Ustaz Md Murat Md Aris, also shared with us tips on success and a key to that is to SET A TARGET.
This reminds me of a saying; "Always aim for the sky, for if u fall at least you can reach the clouds."

Over some beverages and tea, Ust Murat also encouraged us to continue seeking for knowledge; (regardless Islamic or academic) as both are important for success in this world and hereafter. He also expressed his worries on the generation gap between the 'experienced' asatizahs and us, that might cause insecurities and doubts from the society. Therefore as the future dai', it is important for us to understand the different problems or issues during the asatizahs' era and the current issues in our era so we could tackle the issues wisely.

On one short evening, Alexandrians were touched by their warmth and care despite our small number which is around 20 girls BUT with their thoughts we were able to gather our strength and start to believe that WE TOO CAN achieve and succeed. They motivated, they inspired and they assured us that we are not alone. Before their goodbye, emails were exchanged in hope to continue this ukhuwah and for them to be there in our need for advices or guidance for THEY ARE THE CANDLES THAT LIGHT OUR DARKNESS. :)

With this, we thank them, Teacher Khairiana and husband, Ustaz Affendi, Ustaz Zakir and wife, Ustaz Mokhsan and family, Ustaz Murat and family for their thoughts and care. Last but not least, our sister Aisyah and 2 brothers, Muhammad and Salleh from Cairo for assisting in this gathering.

We pray that we'll be given another opportunity to share such blissful meeting and may Allah shower His endless love and blessings towards each and everyone of us.
We also would like to take this opportunity to apologise on any of our short- comings during the visit. Hopefully everyone has benefited from the event. Amiiiin.

From the two of us sincerely;
Liyana and Hazimah Ulfah.
